The substitutionary death of Jesus Christ

Sunday morning Senior Pastor Patrick Abendroth delivered a profound sermon on the importance of the substitutionary death of Jesus Christ on the cross. We were continuing in our verse by verse study of Matthew. Just how important is the substititionary death of Christ? We started by looking at 1 Corinthians 1:18:

The word of the cross is foolishness to those who are persishing, but to those who are being saved it is the power of God.

So how important is it to you? Is it the power of God, or is it just foolishness and unimportant? The perfect lamb of God met the righteouness of God at the moment in time. Pat went on preach about the two cries of Jesus on the cross that say it all about everything. The cries are found in Matthew 27:45-50. I just got through watching the Passion of the Christ. I admitted to myself i do not know what love is. I became a Christian when i was 8 years old, i’m 13 now, and i believe i’ve been reserected again.

I think the point of Jesus’ substitutionary death on the cross is being overlooked. He lead a sinless life, but died a sinful death. He died the death that was my destiny! Praise be to God; when I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour, I was reconciled back to the Father! I have been forgiven!

I love my Christ. My only objective in this life of mine is to glorify my Father leaving the pleasures of this world behind.May God bless all who earnestly seek him.Please pray for me all those having hearts to do so.And remember that Helena is not my actual name.The dear God in Heaven will bless abundantly all those who move even a mm for him.Because He is Righteous and Just.
