Are we really in distress?

In the above picture please notice the first bullet point under “The Standards of Respect” for flag etiquette. The bullet point reads:

The flag should never be dipped to any person or thing. It is flown upside down only as a distress signal.

This partial list was obtained from usflag.org concerning flag etiquette. Now for my point. Please go to this link of my wife’s blog site and see an interesting article about the design of the pass credentials for the 2008 Democratic Party Convention. She’s just saying…

Obviously, the Democrats are distressed about the 2008 election. Flying the flag upside down with no reason save design should be considered a crime.

    Jimmy,

I showed the pass credentials to a guy I work with who served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force and he said the same thing. Flying the flag upside down is a crime.

    I’m just saying…
